Rain! Glorious rain! How we have missed you! Puddle jumping is the best! Especially when you lay down and roll around in it! Well, I didn't. But Bentley sure did.
So I've done a pretty good job of restraining myself from talking too much about my allergy detective work. I realize it's insanely boring. My mom and I call each other and share the fascinating stories of what we've eaten in the past few days and what reactions we did or didn't have. All I'm saying is these precious lunch time bowls of potatoes are my only hope of keeping any meat on my bones! I will report these findings: I'm allergic to corn (sob-corn is my favorite food in the whole wide world, and popcorn is my very favorite treat), dairy, yeast, and chocolate. Yup, chocolate. It's not as bad as the others though, it only makes my taste buds swell if I eat a lot of it. But for the good news: My hands feel great! You know how they say ignorance is bliss? It's so so true. I would think about regretting my detective work, but my hands are so happy I guess I won't complain just yet.

You have got to be kidding me? Ok, this is really scary news for me because...if this is correct then Preston's mom is right! Eating really does effect people in so many different ways. Uhh! I really should be watching what I eat. I have two new goals for eating, because for me I really have an overwhelming fear of getting fat. Maybe I should have the view point of "Eat healthy, be healthy." I think refined sugars effect me in adverse ways. When I eat too much refined sugars my Bell's Palsy side is slower than normal. Uhh! I hate this! I'm so sad you can't have dairy or chocolate. My prayers are with you. :)
hey, i just posted a comment...what happened to it? sigh... I'll have to repost it later.
Katie, you might look into the book "In Defense of Food," it's awesome. I reviewed it on my blog a while ago, so you might be able to search and find it to get the gist of it.
Hey, did you see what happened with the Midnight Sun book? And, as much and I would like to lose weight I would hate to give up good food. Sorry about the popcorn. I love popcorn, especially kettle corn.
No--what happened with Midnight Sun?
The whole allergy thing is kind of a bummer, but it's really not that big of a deal. Especially considering when I eat things that I'm not allergic to I feel great! Refined sugar gives me a huge headache!
Once you know for sure that something you are eating is causing you pain, you can't eat it again and enjoy it.
Although, if I eat one or two little pieces of 60-85% dark chocolate I'm good. The only reaction to chocolate I noticed so far was a swollen taste bud. And chocolate tastes better than that hurts. And if I just eat a little I don't have any reaction at all. Yay!
Have you not been allergic before? Am I ignorant about this? Am I allergic to stuff? It is all so intriguing.
It's weird. I got this eczema on my hands right after Olivia was born. I assumed that it was from the excessive hand washing or that I was allergic to my hand soap. I've been to doctors and a dermatologist, but nothing has helped much. I just decided to try food allergies because my mom has some. Turns out if I eat the right things (or don't eat the right things) my eczema goes completely away.
